Christian group kicks as Ondo stops members from using dome

A religious group under the auspices of the Niger Delta Christian Leaders Forum was on Thursday prevented from using the International Event Centre in Akure, the state capital by officials of the state government.

It was gathered that the government took action against the group because of its inability to pay for the usage of the event centre .

Members of the group who came from the nine Niger Delta states , frowned on the development , saying the government was not fair to them.

Some of them who spoke with our correspondent said they were in the state to pray for the Niger Delta region and the country in general.

They also said the group had informed the government earlier about their plan to use the government facility for their prayer summit, saying they were disappointed by the government.

But the state Commissioner for Information , Mr Yemi Olowolabi. said the NDCLF was only asked to pay a token for the maintenance of the event centre before they could use the facility.
