Mrs Akeredolu To Governor Ambode; Let’s Fight Cancer Together

Cancer Association of Nigeria (BRECAN) Mrs Betty Anyawu Akeredolu has taken her cancer campaign to Lagos, seeking the support of governor Akinwunmi Ambode.

Speaking at the official launch and fundraising dinner for the Lagos Chapter of BRECAN, Mrs Akeredolu said collaborative efforts between individuals and government will go a long way in nipping in the bud the cancer scourge.

In a lecture, a health expert, Mrs. Olufunmi Olateju emphasized the role of diet in attaining good health and highlighted some factors that help in preventing cancer to include physical exercise, and healthy eating habits

National President of BRECAN, Mrs. Juliet Ogbogu expressed joy at the official launch of the chapter and applauded. Mrs Akeredolu’s efforts for taking the initiative to establish BRECAN 20 years ago.

Dignitaries that graced the event include the Governor of Lagos State, Akinwumi Ambode, his wife, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode, the wife of Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Chief Mrs. Ajewole Ajayi among others.

Speaking at the event, a 30 year old breast cancer survivor while commending Mrs. Akeredolu for establishing BRECAN charged government to make radiotherapy machines available so that cancer patients can access help.
