Man United To Slash Players Salary After Missing Out On Champions League

Manchester United players will see their salaries cut by 25% after failing to qualify for the Champions League next season, the UK Mirror reports.

United’s hopes of securing a place in Europe’s elite club competition were dashed after Sunday’s 1-1 draw at relegated Huddersfield.

The Red Devils will now play in the Europa League in the 2019/2020 campaign.

Contracts at Old Trafford are structured, such that up to a quarter of wages are taken away if they do not earn a place in Europe’s elite club competition.

Reductions in wages is intended to protect the Old Trafford outfit from the drop in revenue that comes with missing out on Champions League football.
