Manchester Goalkeeper David De Gea Wants To Be Paid £300k Per Week

Reports are claiming that David De Gea wants at least £300k-a-week in order to commit his long-term future to Manchester United. The Spanish goalkeeper, 28, reportedly wants to stay at Old Trafford after years of speculation but expects to command a bumper pay-rise.

United recently triggered De Gea’s one-year extension clause seeing the No1 stay in Manchester until 2020, but all parties now want fresh terms, say the Daily Mail.

De Gea put on a match-winning performance as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer won his fifth straight Premier League game against Tottenham on Sunday.

The Spaniard made an incredible 11 saves, including a truly special stop to deny Harry Kane, as Marcus Rashford scored in the 1-0 win at Wembley.

While Rashford – who netted for the third match in a row and Paul Pogba have really thrived under Solskjaer’s attacking philosophy, De Gea has been arguably even better.

Now, with the United stopper happy to stay at the club, he is willing to potentially finish his career at Old Trafford.

De Gea currently earns around £200,000-a-week at United meaning he could see a whopping 50 per cent increase on his current pay.

With both club and player now wanted to negotiate, Man United players have jumped in to convince him to stick around.

Earlier this week, Jesse Lingard claimed: “We want him to stay. He’s one of the best keepers in the world, if not the best.”
